Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such asengines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and theircomponents. Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystemson supportedaircraft. Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checksand services. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performingspecial inspections. Performs limited maintenance operational checks anddiagnoses and trouble shoots aircraft systems using special tools and testequipment as required. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools,special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment. Applies comprehensivetechnical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpretingtechnical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, MaintenanceInformation and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided throughgovernment official representatives. Participates in maintenance testflights and operation checks as required. Performs functions of a FlightEngineer Non-rated crew member.

MaintenanceConducted extensive maintenance inspections and tests on the CH-53E Super Stallions prior to flight to determine aircraft worthiness; Completed checklists and reviewed reports and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance; Enforced the use of uniform aviation maintenance repair techniques and standards; Ensured compliance with applicable US Marine Corps regulations, technical manuals, bulletins and safety of flight messages. Directed daily maintenance operations involving up to 60 or 70 maintainers and technical inspectors with varied skill levels; Prioritized adjusted workflow to achieve/exceed Operational Readiness and ensure high quality workmanship.
