Researched and drafted appellate briefs as well as a variety of substantive and procedural motions including motions for summary judgment. Conducted oral arguments at New York, Kings, Bronx, and Queens County Supreme Courts and attended preliminary, compliance, and status conferences as necessary. Drafted tender demand letters and discovery demands and responses. Reviewed and analyzed a multitude of contracts and insurance policies to determine applicable and available coverage. Submitted monthly status reports based upon recently received medical records, workers’ compensation records, investigation reports, deposition testimony, and other discovery materials. Advocated for consumers’ rights, such as the satisfaction of unpaid court judgments, against corporations and entities at the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, resulting in $55,545 granted in consumer restitution and $114,875 in fines imposed by the department. Researched state statutes, potential liability, and corporations that operate in New York City and compiled information into spreadsheets and memoranda. Drafted petitions and sections of complaints to be used in cases filed against corporations and negotiated settlements with businesses. Managed a wide variety of cases and communicated directly with consumers in order to draft summonses that were filed against entities such as tow trucking corporations and contractors. Attended monthly staff meetings with the department’s attorneys to discuss ongoing cases.

Assisted in the update of a leading sports law casebook, Sports and the Law. Updated the text and references seen in the chapters and drafted memoranda analyzing sports law cases and other cases that concern issues such as intellectual property, the right to broadcast games, agents, torts, and criminal law. Discussed ongoing sports law cases, research results, and further steps that should be taken for the textbook update.

Examined opposing counsel’s submitted legal documents and summarized findings for partners and associate attorneys to utilize in the drafting of a legal document. Researched and gathered necessary exhibits to create a list of exhibits for a future trial.
