The growth of metal oxides onto adsorbents based on residual biomass for water decontamination application. Joined a team of international researchers and students from Peru and Great Britain. Participated in preparation of biochar and activated carbon adsorbents made from agrowaste. Responsible for impregnation of the biochars with metal oxides to form metal oxide/biochar composite materials. Performed adsorption tests in aqueous solution. Formal analysis of data, Visualization, Writing- Original draft preparation, Writing - Review & Editing of manuscripts. During the 14 months I learned Spanish in order to be able to properly communicate with the students and staff.

Topic: Decomposition of VOC (volatile organic compounds). Thermal decomposition of dichloromethane over catalyst. FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) analysis of the emissions.

Preparation of titanium dioxide materials using sol gel and hydrothermal method (powder samples, composite samples, layers) various precursors. Dip coating. Brief experience with spin coating. Photoactivity measurement using dye photodegradation.

Topic: Preparation of Polymer/clay composites. Worked with a Chinese team of researchers and students on preparation of polymer/clay composites. Participated in preparation of the composites, injection moulding and tests of mechanical properties. The resulting data were utilized in a project LH12184: New nanostructured fillers for friction composites. Supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Czech Republic.
