  • Assize Court Chambers
    Barrister'S Clerk
Assize Court Chambers Aug 2008 - Jun 2012
    Bristol, England, United Kingdom
Immediately after graduation I worked as a barrister's clerk around Bristol and the South West of England and Wales's legal circuits. This role required me to clerk a large number of barristers with cases in civil and family law, commercial, employment and chancery legal cases. Many of our barristers were accredited mediators and I worked with court liaisons officers and diarised and organised schedules on counsel’s behalf. I would also deliver presentations to other legal firms who would benefit from our services. Dealing predominantly criminal work, I also played a part in organising clinical negligence claims, Fast Track/Multi Track/Small Claims personal injury claims and civil litigation. Many of the barristers were members of Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) and some of them sat as District, Deputy District, Circuit and Immigration judges. Here I was trained in legal administration and learnt to promote and present the company’s strength and the legal expertise strengths of the individual barristers.
