Coles operates a fully integrated meat business encompassing a multi-billion dollar turnover retail business, a large primary and secondary manufacturing/production business (operated through owned and third party facilities), livestock procurement business and a multi-million dollar export sales business. Key responsibilities:· Senior Leadership Team member and Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee member;· Leading the re-integration and transformation of the Retail and Production teams;· Developing and communicating the overall business unit strategy;· Commercial Director role establishing and leading a commercial function across the overall integrated business including frontline commercial negotiations for multi-million dollar contracts; · Leading the livestock procurement function, buying strategy and team of 14 team members;· Leading and generating growth for a multi-million dollar global export business, including full P&L ownership, focused predominantly on customers in Asia Pacific and the Americas; and · Leading a diverse team of 17 team members (4 Direct Reports).

Coles Production was a newly established business unit focused on developing and executing strategies to secure the supply of key commodity products given the intensification within the market to acquire Australian agribusiness and food production/manufacturing assets;In addition to this mandate the business unit was responsible for managing all owned/controlled integrated upstream operations (i.e. Meat);Key responsibilities:· Senior Leadership Team member and Continuous Improvement Sub-Committee member;· Design, develop and communicate the new business unit strategy;· Build a pipeline of investment opportunities across all categories within the Food and Liquor group;· Prioritise and present investment cases, feasibility assessments and project updates to the Coles Executive;· Project Director, Commercial Lead and Business Owners Representative for Coles’ largest non-core investment project, a greenfields secondary meat manufacturing/production facility in NSW; · Commercial Director role for all current and proposed integrated upstream operations; and· General business unit leadership as the 2IC.

Requested to assist the Liquor CFO in leading the finance function for the stand-alone multi-billion dollar retail business. Key responsibilities:· Equivalent Commercial Finance Director role accepting accountability for the financial leadership, finance function strategy and overall performance of the business;· Leadership of 8 direct reports across all brands (Liquorland, 1st Choice, Vintage Cellars and Online ebusinesses);· Build commercial finance, business planning, performance and insights and vendor management functions and capabilities;· Transform the finance function to improve commercial decision support providing financial and commercial insight, analysis, planning, governance, process improvement and the identification of growth opportunities or risks;· Build trusted working partnerships across the executive leadership team with focus on supporting the Merchandise, Marketing, Supply Chain and Business Development divisions;· Work in collaboration with the financial controller to manage the financial IT function for the Coles Liquor business; and· Senior Finance Function leadership role focused on the continued transformation of the finance function.

Recruited directly by the Coles Group CFO to strengthen the financial and commercial leadership and acumen within the Coles Finance Function;The Coles Group had not long been acquired by Wesfarmers Limited for $22 billion and undertook the largest organisational transformation in Australian corporate history; Key responsibilities:· Meat, Deli and Dairy business unit Senior Leadership Team member;· Finance lead for a multi-billion dollar retail business and a billion dollar integrated production business partnering the General Manager of Meat, Deli & Dairy in an equivalent divisional CFO/Finance Director role;· Senior Finance Function leadership role focused on transforming the finance function;· Business partner to the General Manager: Meat, Deli and Dairy acting as their trusted advisor across commercial, strategy, marketing, people and operational decisions whilst also leading the 5-year corporate plan, commercial finance and core financial control functions; and· Leading a team of 8 senior finance professionals and administrators through 4 direct reports.
