Member of a team responsible for building Dealer Dot Com’s corporate infrastructure. I was a project lead during the complete re-architecture of our LAN and WAN across three corporate offices and the migration from a homogenous linux based architecture to a heterogeneous Linux, Windows and OSX environment. Nearly all systems were migrated into a highly redundant VMware ESX cluster, leveraging SANS and blade centers. High availability being a key concern, applications were load balanced and databases were slaved and/or clustered. I helped design our networks to withstand failures at the network edge, core, firewall and ISPs layers. Team lead and mentor to five helpdesk employees. I designed and implemented a managed OSX client and server architecture using roaming profiles. This spanned five schools and 500 nodes. Introduced automated imaging for both windows and osx clients and tied the windows workstations and servers into Apple’s Open Directory for centralized authentication. I served as the project lead in the district’s first one to one laptop deployment and secured the laptops using mobile profiles and rsync backups. Working with cisco consultants, I helped to overhaul the central office and middle school LAN, departing from a flat network and introducing layer three switches.
