Passions come in very unexpectant ways.When I was in high school, a loved one of mine went to prison--he was 19. The sentence that he had to serve was longer than the amount of time that he had been alive, and this was the moment where pain and passion crossed paths for me. I made a promise to him at 14 that I would become a lawyer. This pain ultimately directed many of the activities I became involved with during my tenure in undergraduate school. Although I was initially very naïve about what it meant to be a lawyer, I did understand that lawyers needed to be able to argue their cases before a jury. Using these tidbits of information about what it meant to be a lawyer, I joined my college debate team and did quite well as a debater. I was ranked number 17 in the nation for International Public Debate. Later, I found myself trying to change my university’s policies as the Student Government Association’s Vice President. Ultimately, this led me to attend Loyola University New Orleans and pursue my Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration. During law school, I discovered a passion for helping startup entrepreneurs. I noticed that many friends would come asking me basic legal questions about how to develop their business. Eventually, friends of friends, peers, classmates, and family members were asking me the same questions. As I realized that my knowledge as a legal researcher was valuable in the world of entrepreneurship, I capitalized on this niche market by ultimately starting Legal Weapon LLC. My company, Legal Weapon LLC is an online legal technology company that assists entrepreneurs with connecting to legal researchers to receive answers to their legal issues. Destiny is divine. It is enthralling how purpose is birthed out of passions and pains. Thus, this is how a person’s purpose and place in life are defined. Proceeding, my objectives are enjoying life, learning how to be a better businessman, and advocating for my clients.
