Vice President, Product & Strategy
Openmobile
Involved in every aspect and function of the company. My top priority was to create the ability for new (and existing) mobile operating systems (Tizen, Firefox, Windows, etc.) to enter the market specifically with robust app ecosystems from day one, therefore allowing them to be successful. Note, there are still ~2 billion people without smartphones, hence enormous opportunity.I wore many hats, and did lots of fun stuff. That stuff included owning the product, product management (Scrum), creating our strategy and solving problems surrounding mobile in-app billing, transactions, payments, push notifications & cloud messaging, advertising, maps, app stores, etc; I did business development, sales, app & content sourcing, partner integration; I launched programs - such as an application testing and validation program, and I generally just had an awesome time and solved hard problems. Our core technology, Application Compatibility Layer (ACL), enables Android apps to run on non-Android operating systems, allowing new and existing platforms to break the "app barrier". These platforms include mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, wearables, cable set-top boxes, in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI), in-flight entertainment systems (IFE), PCs, etc.
