With its online platform, ezCater connects corporate catering customers with nearby restaurants and caterers. It allows companies to review menus from restaurants and then place an order for meetings or company events. Restaurants are required to have the appropriate catering menus and web presence to join the platform. ezCater has over 100,000 restaurants and caterers signed up on its platform and is on track for an IPO in 2023. As a Senior Engineering Manager for E-Commerce I managed the engineering teams responsible for the entire user flow of theEzCater site for end users ordering catering. This included entering the delivery address, searching for a caterer, selecting the catering order from the catering menu and checking out. - In the first 12 months I grew the E-Commerce team from two engineers to two teams with over a dozen engineers and two Engineering Managers with a third team on the way.- Focusing on the growth, happiness and fulfillment of team members allows the ability for teams to produce higher quality products in less time. The people are my top priority.- Managed two fully remote teams with team members from coast to coast in the US. - In this role for a majority of the time I was not only fulfilling the Senior Engineering Manager role, I was also directly managing a team as an EM as well as filling in for the Director role with the leadership team until those roles were filled.

Shut down due to Covid-19Picin set out to create an industry leading platform allowing the creation of authentic online communities where people can safely meet online and in real life. We created a proprietary platform where users would take an unedited selfie and perform a liveness test to ensure a real person is in front of the camera. The selfie would be used as the person's photo in the community, ensuring a current photo for all users, and would expire. Using facial recognition we would match the user against previous photos of themselves as well as matching against the liveness test. In addition we checked against sexual offenders to prevent unwanted users from entering the community and also blocked all attempts of mal intentioned users.- As a founder and CTO I built the proprietary platform creating API’s and back end microservices on AWS to allow online communities to integrate to the Picin platform.- To prove out the model we performed a build vs. buy analysis and bought a full codebase of a dating platform including backend, iOS and Android applications. We quickly added the Picin process to the application and made it our own by adding Picin branding improving the UI and user experience for a Boston based beta.

Inmoji places clickable icons across a network of hundreds of millions of users through SDK installs on Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Oovoo, Tango, Badoo and many other application. The "inmojis" are like emojis, sent through instant messaging, that access branded content one-pagers with a tap including location-aware data, videos or any custom content for the client. Clients have included Uniqlo, Disney, Starbucks, Ticketmaster, Abbvie, Sotheby’s Realty, NBC Universal, Netflix, Progressive Insurance, Walmart and more. InMoji provides smart analytics and data back to their customers within their own platform, the first of their kind to do so, providing tens of billions of impressions with the InMoji SDK installed on 500 Million devices and over 20 Million DAU.- As the CTO I built the initial prototype to prove out the concept. This was used to go out and fundraise. - Over five years we raised $15MM and built the company out with offices in Boston and San Francisco.- With the co-founders in San Francisco I built out the technology team in Boston and ran the Boston office. - I was responsible for the architecture, design and development of the InMoji Platform that supported over 20MM DAU on over 500MM devices through iOS and Android SDK’s. This was supported by a backend system that created dynamic mobile pages of our brand partners content on demand.- Using AI and ML to build models to dynamically show the best content to users in real time.

Vivox is the largest communication platform for games in the world. Providing cross platform communication, 3D Positional audio, text and voice chat. The platform began as the 3D voice for Second Life and is currently used in games such as Fortnight. The voice technology was also used in an OTT application for T-Mobile, Vivox was responsible for designing and building the entire platform including iOS and Android mobile applications. Identicert provides the ability to send and receive packages without the customer being home to accept the package using the easyQube kiosk application. EasyQube is a network of automated kiosks open 24/7 located in residential buildings and public spaces. I developed the base classes and initial user interface of a touch screen kiosk application. This was developed using C# .NET Compact Framework 2.0 for the windows CE platform.Integrated a webcam open source driver into the kiosk application and developed security policies to store and extract photos for time periods of interest.

FastChannel provides online delivery of TV and Radio commercials to advertisers, maintains an authoritative repository of advertising materials and is branching out into the automated broadcast verification space. Acquired by DG Systems.Lead Software Engineer - Lead engineer responsible for building a new team and successfully building a broadcast verification platform for tracking and monitoring television commercials in real time.- The platform is capable of persisting over two million television commercial detections per day and providing customers a two-year history of detection information via a web user interface. Senior Software Engineer - Designed and developed in C# a generic XML message broker to support an asynchronous XML message based architecture. - Used an inheritance-based OO architecture to develop a rich set of business objects representing core data elements.- This multithreaded high volume app became the engine for all development of new back end processing and ran on ten servers in a live production environment.- Implemented digital media registration solution for encoding video and audio advertisements with undetectable watermark codes before being distributed for airplay.- Participated in a large-scale roll out of a multi million-dollar infrastructure of fifty sites across the United States all tied to a central NOC in Boston. This infrastructure processed over 100,000 commercials per day.
