Within five years, Forbidden Foods was the leading supplier of black rice, organic rice products and specialty rice flours. We further developed a baby foods brand called FUNCH and plant-based brand called Sensory Mill. Forbidden Foods listed via an initial public offering float on the ASX in 2020, raising $6 million at a $15 million market capitalisation. On day one of trading, the share price opened 80 per cent from its 20c offer price and reached a high of 40c – a 100 per cent increase.I managed a global team that grew from four to 18 employees across operations, procurement, R&D, sales and marketing. My team oversaw three brands operating through multiple trading entities in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Furthermore, I served as the lead for strategy, contract and deal negotiations for key markets globally across the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines and the Middle East.As Non-Executive Chairman, I presided over our monthly board meetings, work to set the strategic direction with the board and CEO; incentivising and evaluating the performance of the CEO, and championing good corporate governance. -
