My role at Rudy L. Hawkins is to design and implement the best industrial automation solution given the requests of the customer on time and under budget. Projects that I have worked on at Rudy L. Hawkins include controls and HMI upgrades in power generation applications, CNC drive upgrades, bottling conveyor systems and process controls solutions for FDA manufacturers.

Design, update and commission balancing machines for many different applications including aerospace and auto industries. Duties include: Complete design, implementation and commissioning machines from start to finish. Drawing schematics and wiring diagrams using Auto Cad Electrical 2015. Electrical design component research and selection based upon customer and application project requirements. Assembling (BOM) bill of materials for design schematics. PLC ladder logic development for PLC controls including Allen Bradley and Omron PLC's. Motion control using RSLogix5000 and Kinetix servos. Completing machine safety risk analysis and selecting safety rated components for machine safety integration.

Design, update and install industrial conveyor systems for use in the corrugated board industry. Duties included: Design of electrical schematics, Developing PLC ladder logic programs using Rockwell software and Allen Bradley PLC's, On-site project management for new installations, On-site and remote troubleshooting of industrial conveyor systems, Training of employees on proper use and safety regulations for new equipment, Network engineering for PLC based communications via EtherNet, wireless and DeviceNet protocols. Experience using Powerflex, Nord, Movimot (EuroDrive), and Emerson variable frequency drives. Experience using SICK Flexisoft Designer software and SICK S3000 Laser Scanners. HMI development and modifications using Rockwell Factory Talk Studio. Extensive experience with barcode systems, mainly using SICK and Symbol barcode scanners via Ethernet Serial and wireless communications.

Assisted in the design, implementation and troubleshooting of software and hardware controlling automated manufacturing equipment. Configure and install wireless access points, switches, routers, firewalls and PC's. Training of employees to operate system proprietary software controlling automated conveyors for use in the corrugated board industry.

Training and supervision of Network Technicians. Network equipment and cabling installations including routers, switches, patch panels and other necessary equipment. In-home installation of wireless point to point internet service. Assisted with installation, troubleshooting and management of wireless point to point networks including tower sites. Technical support for ISP customers. Supported physical installation and troubleshooting of phone systems.
