Led the development of over $160 million in energy conservation measures for Air Force and Army customers. Measures included entire base conversion of interior and exterior lighting to LEDs, 3.5 MW solar photovoltaic, controls, building envelope, piping insulation, HVAC equipment replacements and optimization of industrial process measures such as paint booths, dip tanks and compressed air. Took a holistic and integrated approach to enhance the resilience posture of an Army customer, coupling energy and water conservation measures to augment the effectiveness of a 15 MW black start microgrid and battery storage technologies

Worked with University, Healthcare, Senior Living and Corporate customers to develop energy savings projects, optimize chilled water systems, remodel serveries, dining and kitchens. Led the development and installation of Subway, Chick-fil-A, and Starbucks brands.

Applied design, facilities maintenance and energy engineering experience to lead teams in the development of facility improvement projects that are paid for by the energy savings they achieve. Directly led the development of $34MM in projects and assisted in the development of $38MM. Measures developed included retro-commissioning, controls optimization, water conservation, lighting, HVAC, plug loads, solar PV and solar thermal. Tasks included meeting with customer to assess needs and energy goals, auditing facilities, establishing an accurate energy baseline, energy modeling using software or spreadsheets, writing scopes of work for bid purposes or cost estimating, defining equipment specifications and writing measurement and verification protocols. For each project I create a finance model that calculates the term of the loan needed to pay for the measures based on variables like savings, interest rate, cost and inflation.

One of only 30 recipients of a 2009 University of Texas Outstanding Staff Award.Managed construction of $55 million Biomedical Engineering lab building to ensure design matched stakeholders' expectations. Facilitated coordination between design team, contractor and faculty. Monitored construction progress and reported to department Chair and upper management. Managed the move and fit up of 21 research groups and two departments into the new building. Managed the renovation and move of 12 research groups into new $60 million wet lab building. Met with researchers to determine renovation and fit up needs and delivered scope to contractor for bids. Managed over $2 million in electrical, mechanical, data, telecom, EHS, and laboratory modifications and equipment orders to meet customer needs. Estimated and tracked project budgets and contractor progress. lDaily activities include scoping, planning, estimating, budgeting, designing, scheduling, soliciting quotes and tracking progress of renovation projects. Monitor and enforce safety and security in laboratories. Manage department annual inventory report. Coordinate with physical plant maintenance staff to perform building equipment maintenance, complete work orders, answer trouble calls, and coordinate building outages. Provide engineering and estimating support.

Managed mechanical, electrical and civil disciplines in the design, construction and commissioning of $3 million in facility upgrades including installation of rental boiler, boiler room, steam superheater, air heaters, fuel heaters, pumps, propane vaporization and delivery system, fuel flow control and measurement skids, and modifications to 9H, 7E, 7F turbine combustion test stands per ASME sect. VIII. Created system operating procedures that helped improve the Gas Turbine testing lab test execution percentage from 73% to 85% success rate. Daily activities included starting up the facility for low NOx gas turbine combustion tests, managing multiple projects and construction crews, preparing construction cost estimates, developing project proposals, troubleshooting facility problems, design and process engineering, writing rigging plans, performing vibration analysis and developing and implementing a predictive and preventative maintenance program. Conducted Root Cause Analysis, HAZOPS and FMEAS. Safety team member.

Performed wet and dry side mechanical design for semiconductor fabrication facilities. Developed Process and & Instrumentation Diagrams of mechanical systems including fuel oil, natural gas, steam, compressed air, vacuum, chilled and condenser water. Edited master specifications. Performed pipe stress analysis on 42 inch FAB condenser water piping system that contained 11 chillers and 20 cooling towers in seismic zone 3 per ASME B31.3.

Sized and designed mechanical systems for laboratories, hospitals, and universities. Examples include 350,000+ s.f. research labs for UMASS Medical and Harvard University and a 52,000 s.f. energy efficient dorm and conference center for Dartmouth College. Designed layout of mechanical rooms including pumps, chillers, AHUS, boilers and heat exchangers. Calculated steam, hot water and chilled water utility requirements and sized piping. Performed pipe stress analysis to meet ASME B31.1 on multiple campus wide direct buried systems. Designed 1,500 foot long chilled water and steam piping system that included routing pipe in a mechanical room, trenches and tunnels. Coordinated designs with architectural, civil, electrical and structural disciplines.

Analyzed chilled water piping systems for semiconductor campuses using hydronic analysis software including a 50,000 gpm condenser water system. Performed detailed duct and piping system pressure drop calculations and selected fans and pumps. Performed pipe stress code calculations on hot water, steam, and low temperature glycol piping systems. Calculated heating and cooling loads on cleanrooms, support areas, and office buildings. Designed process piping. Prepared contract documents and specifications.

Performed exhaust and process piping system design. Designed the fire protection package for 30,000 s.f. class 1 cleanroom expansion of Motorola MOS 13.
