I am an Elite expert consultant with 25 years experience working within top legal practices managing and developing Elite Enterprise and connected systems. I am a SQL developer, SSRS report writer, 4gl programmer, VBA programmer.I am personally developing a new report suite that will work with any PMS (interface dependent), using the established Microsoft SQL Reporting Services 2012 platform with fully integrated security (with both user- and group-based rules). The report menu (which is accessed using a web browser) displays only the reports that the user or group has access to. All reports are multi-currency and can be either viewed on screen, with drill-down options, printed or exported to Excel / PDF / text file. I am writing a SQL script that exports all required data from the Firm’s “Live” PMS into warehouse tables within the report suite database at intervals set by the Firm – enabling “Point in Time” reporting, which is not available from every PMS reporting package.

The data management consists of some screens and information held in 3E which is loaded into the Reporting Portal Management System (RPMS) on a regular controllable schedule.all reports and dashboards are accessable from a main report menu within SSRS. the reports include management information for the firm as well as operational and client orientated reports.I have also written (as part of the RPMS) a subscription mangement tool that allows the systems team to set up automatic reporting sent to Partners and staff to keep them informed of important events, deadlines and data sucha as missing time, new matters for key clients, debtor positions etc.

I am the Elite expert personally responsible for managing and developing the global finance systems which services all offices.I am responsible for development and managing the Elite system and supervise the day-to-day operations, balancing, setting up new users, and ensuring system integrity.I developed a new report portal using SSRS, and have personally written a ‘Partners’ Statistics Console’, that is used by partners to view their personal statistics online. I am transferring all of the Firm’s in-house reports to this new portal resulting in faster access and accuracy of the reporting of finance data. I work hand-in-hand with the Firm’s finance heads to develop reports for the management of budgets and forecasting. I am solely responsible for writing and managing proforma templates, and have worked extensively with Opes Consulting on the Visbill bill templates.I am a leading 4gl developer solely responsible for additions to Elite, such as custom reports, custom template based E-Billing system and custom modification tools. I have developed and managed the Elite Extend events for notifying the Firm's staff via email, for example: informing partners of new matters; billing assistants about a time being erased on matters; monthly notifications to partners regarding their billing and collections targets; letting billing partners know the AR and WIP balances.I also manage the integration with DTE, Copitrak, LegalKey, ARCS, the Firm's intranet and Interaction.I work closely with the global billing manager to find ways to shorten the billing process, and to simplify processing by local billing / collections teams. As the Elite expert, I was a key member of an in-house team responsible for implementing the new LegalKey business intake system that revolutionized the risk management functions within the Firm. This improved the time taken from a partner accepting new business to new clients and matters being available for time recording and billing.

I was responsible for the development and management of the Elite practice management system, including setting security standards, writing reports, and ensuring that the system was in balance.I managed and trained a full-time finance systems assistant, and had indirect management responsibility for the database administrator within the IT department.I was the main instigator for setting up the Carpe Diem time recording system which increased the quality and detail of time recording for the Firm. Before this was implemented a MS Word based time sheet was used that was loaded into Elite manually. I personally managed four Elite upgrades from v2.5b to Enterprise, via v2.5d and v2.80b sp3 (including complete general ledger conversion).I personally wrote the following applications: • a data warehouse that fed the intranet based inquiry system • utilities for replicating client / matter exception rates • an access control system that did not allow entry clerks to exit the Elite software until they had closed all open batches in ELBS (billing system) • a BillBook system to maintain integrity of and regulate the billing process • reports for weekly / monthly reporting at partner level • a set of balancing reports to ensure that billing and G/L systems agreed • ELBS reports to help manage day-to-day operations • billing system import routines for use with soft cost loads.I worked very closely with Minisoft inc. (software house) in the development of their product ARCS. I lobbied for SJ Berwin to become the main beta site in the UK during 1998. As a result we had rapid turnaround by the Minisoft development team for enhancement requests. Subsequently, I published a case study on ARCS for Elite in Elite’s customer magazine.In addition to my main responsibilities I supervised user training, user support, liaising with Elite and other external suppliers.

I was wholly responsible for the balancing of the Elite system.I was heavily involved in the development of the Firm’s credit control solution ‘LIBRA’, from overseeing, with the credit control manager, the design of the system, through the testing phases to the eventual implementation to all offices. I was solely responsible for the creation and maintenance of all Elite templates.I was given responsibility for the billing of the Firms’ major client British Coal Corporation and designed, with their collaboration, the billing procedures and formats, which, once implemented, changed a 2-week billing process into a ½-day procedure.
