During my time as Vice President of Fellowship for the PTK Honors Society at Sierra College, my role involved organizing events that brought members of the society together for fun and connection. Typically, these events were held in-person, but due to the pandemic, we had to pivot and run our society online. This presented a unique challenge, but we were determined to make the most of the situation.One of the events that I organized was a game night on Thursday evenings. I brought everyone together to play different games and offered gift cards to the winners. The purpose of these meetings was to provide a stress-free environment for our members and allow them to unwind from their weekly schedule.In addition to organizing events, I worked with my advisor to design, order, and arrange face masks with the logo of our college. These masks were distributed among those in need, providing a helpful and necessary item during a challenging time.As a team, we also designed cards and gifts for Christmas and holidays, which were distributed to a shelter in Sacramento that helps single women and their children. This was a great opportunity for us to make a difference in the lives of others and give back to the community.Joining the PTK Honors Society provided me with a sense of fulfillment and showed me that there are numerous ways to make an impact in our society. By doing small things like organizing game nights or creating gifts for those in need, we can make a huge impact on someone's life. Overall, my experience as VP of Fellowship for the PTK Honors Society was rewarding and taught me the importance of community and connection, even during challenging times.
