An Architect with strong skills in ideation, strategy, intern development, relationship building and broad experience including K-12, Civic, Retail, Fueling, Banking, Laboratory and Recreational industries.After completing a degree in Management with an emphasis in Advertising I started off in my chosen field. The problem was I hated it. I dreaded going to work and didn’t really excel at what I did. Even though I would put in 15-18 hours a day working hard the job was just a job. Being a creative type I moved back into photography and worked for the studio that employed me while in college. My boss was a great mentor and cheerleader and his sister was an architect. He told me I should look into Architecture and after completing a degree at the University of Arkansas, Fay Jones School of Architecture, I have never looked back (many thanks Mr. Dillin).Early on I found that I love drawing construction details, writing specifications, rendering, and working with clients to make their dreams come to life. I’ve always sketched and drawn but while traveling in Mexico as part of a study abroad program I found a love of watercolor painting. I still prefer rendering in watercolor. The warm colors are more approachable than the overly precise computer renderings many start with today. Watercolors give me the ability to study the form, detail and texture so to understand the nature of the form. I still do computer renderings but love watercolor and markers.
