I would like to introduce myself as Jasim Basheer. I am currently working as Junior Researcher in Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. I have completed my Ph.D from School of Biosciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India under the title “Functional Analysis and Applications of Endophytic Bacteria from Selected Spice Plants”.I am very much delighted in applying for a postdoc position in your lab as my research interests and experience meet the requirements for the same. During my research in different labs, I was trying to combine different techniques including metabolic profiling, Next generation sequencing, High resolution fluorescence microscopy and biochemistry for studying the mechanisms involved in plant microbe interactions for developing methods for sustainable and stable agricultural practices. My capability to work independently as well as in a team are reflected in lead author/co-author publications listed in my CV. Regarding my attitude, I am hardworking, positive and a person with strong research ethics.Main focus of my doctoral research work was on the isolation, purification and characterization of plant growth promoting and bioactive compounds (volatile and nonvolatile) from endophytic bacteria from selected medicinal plants for the development of products for bio-control applications. Currently I am working on elucidating the mechanisms involved in signaling and cytoskeletal (Both actin and microtubule) dynamics during fungal and bacterial colonization (both pathogenic and beneficial) on plants (Arabidopsis, Barley and Medicago) (Research statement attached separately).
