About Jasmine Lopez

First-generation Latina student looking to tie back my interests of psychology, neuroscience and cognitive science to both administrative and research settings. During my time at Berkeley, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting the best of both worlds as I aided in contributing to the realm of education equity at Stiles Hall, as well as academic research in Perception & Action and technical writing in Neurotech @ Berkeley. Currently, my interests lie in bringing more diversity and new faces to academia and continuing to give back to students with similar backgrounds through team management, coaching and mentorship.

During my time as an EBHS Coordinator, I have been able to give back as an EBHS alumni in guiding underprivileged students through each step of their University of California applications. Students are low-income and first-generation, and excel at their current high schools. I work with my cohort of 12 students an average of six hours a week in the fall, as well as recruit new students in the Spring on top of curating Stiles Hall's social media presence. Throughout the program, I build close relationships with my cohort in order to cater my PIQ advice to their goals and identities through our one-on-one meetings, program-wide workshops, and college counseling.
