About Jasmin Meyer
I come from a long line of educators. To say that teaching is in my blood, is an understatement.I believe that every child deserves quality education, through teaching that has been inclusive and accessible. I started my teaching career at a mainstream school, but found myself at a Special Needs School, where I started teaching learners with ADHD, Down Syndrome, Fatal Alcohol Syndrome, and learners on the Autism Spectrum.Throughout my career I have empowered myself, through reading material and courses in: Assessment, Curriculum Planning, SIAS policy, Intensive Autism Training, Leadership & Management Skills.I believe that teaching and learning can be made possible through technology, and I believe it has a place in the Special Needs Classroom. I am a certified Apple Teacher, and forms part of an Apple Distinguished School.I believe that a child should be developed holistically, and can affirm how sport enhances the self-confidence of learners. Being a certified Level 1 Mini-Cricket Coach.In 2023, I won the Provincial Teaching Award: Excellence in Special Needs Teaching
