My main responsibilities were to effectively deliver the safe running of the Care Homes Dispensary, ensuring that all medications were delivered in a timely manner.Customer care was a main focus in my role. My fundamental priority was to ensure that no patient goes without medication.I can confidently carry out an array of dispensing tasks, complete relevant paperwork and assist any patients via telephone or in person. I was proficient in maintaining the Pharmacies stock. This ranges from the supplies needed for the FRPS prescriptions, as well as keeping a necessary stock of bulk items such as antibiotics for interim and walk-in prescriptions. As a senior member of the Care Services team, I was tasked to train new members of staff. Part of my involvement in the training was creating a how-to guide for different tasks to be completed in the Dispensary. These team members are now valued members of the team.I led the day-to-day running of the Care Services Dispensary, assigning tasks to each member of my team and regularly checking that each task is being completed accurately within a precise and efficient manner.I was involved in End Of Month, Patient Safety, completing the weekly audits and Pharmacy Loss tasks.When Columbus arrived in the store, I helped implementing the new procedures. This involved organising stock and training staff members with the new system.As a senior member of the team I was often in contact with GP surgeries to organise repeat prescriptions for our patients, ensuring these were ordered in sufficient time for us to prepare the medications.
