Aimed to address the pressing issue of prostate cancer in African-American men, who face a 50% higher likelihood of developing the disease and are twice as likely to succumb to it, compared to the general population by identifying biomarkers and exploring biological and social factors that can predict the progression of prostate cancer to metastasis. This will entail a comprehensive literature review to grasp the current understanding of prostate cancer in African-American men, utilization of existing databases, such as the National Cancer Institute (NCI), to identify potential biomarkers associated with clinical outcomes, including tumor aggressiveness, treatment response, and overall survival, and immunohistochemistry techniques

Established a standardized immunostaining protocol for colorectal organoids. The primary objective was to create an efficient protocol for evaluating organoid health and accurately labeling and localizing proteins of interest. This entailed organoid culture, permeabilization, primary and secondary antibody incubation, and microscopy and imaging. Additionally, created a database of various organoid culture protocols for future use and reference within the lab.
