Researching contributions of cerebrovascular impairments to neurodegenerative diseases at the MacVicar Laboratory. Assisting with investigating chemical modulators of risky and impulsive behaviours in rodent models for neuropsychiatric disorders at the Laboratory of Molecular and Behavioural Neuroscience.

Developed and delivered an accelerated science program on topics such as chemistry, molecular biology, cellular biology, and ecology based on the BC school curriculum, extended and guided by the interest and curiosity of the children. Focused on skills of critical thinking, cultivating curiosity, and developing a growth mindset.Delivered programs to improve the social and cognitive skills of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, promoted development of skills to ensure their improvement and success in activities and academics.

Established a branch of the Taking Strides Children’s Foundation charity in Vancouver in 2021, currently supervising a team of 12 executives and 40 program volunteers and directing all activities of the charity branch. Developed volunteer training program based on recognized professional development modules on inclusivity, experience coaching, working with children, and behaviour management to ensure preparedness and performance consistency amongst volunteers. Training was peer-reviewed and approved by personnel at other disability organizations, Vancouver School Board, and more established branches of TSCF.Developed a Program Director training module to ensure consistent program quality and operation by preparing candidates for demands of the position, integrating skills from recognized professional development modules on program design and previous experience in coaching.Completed and applied skills from professional development modules by JumpStart on sports program development, effective delivery of instructions, group management, and creating safe, inclusive spaces for women, individuals with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in sports.

Oversaw the activities of 17 clubs, ensuring their adherence to SUS policies. Fostered club collaborations by launching 4 new events and establishing an online forum for clubs to socialize.Improved club reach by creating a social media initiative promoting their events, setting up a calendar webpage featuring all club events, and creating a designated public space for club posters and announcements.Set up a monthly newsletter to improve communication between SUS and clubs, collecting feedback from clubs to inform new initiatives and future Clubs Commissioners.

Facilitated physical therapy activities in an aquatic environment with residents at long-term care facility George Pearson Centre.Developed novel methods of communication to establish rapport with verbal and non-verbal participants throughout the swim, ensuring that comfort adequate support were provided for the promotion of their physical health.

Taught and maintained proper technique in children’s swimming and managed groups of 5-10 children, ensuring their progress and improvement at competitions. Cultivated good attitudes and confidence in children and adapted coaching to a variety of learning styles, working effectively under high pressure and a fast-paced environment.

Facilitated aquatic activities with children with disabilities, adapting to their individual needs for an organization aimed at providing affordable physical literacy programs to children with disabilities.Became a Junior Executive in Event Planning in March 2019, helping to plan and deliver themed events for St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and a Stampede breakfast for the children and their families. These events hosted 50-200+ people.
