-Fulfill several 24-hour on-call shifts per month to support the hospital crisis advocacy program as a part of the DC Sexual Assault Crisis Response Team wherein survivors are accompanied through police interviews, forensic evidence collection, and medical treatment. - Works closely with the DC Forensic Nurse Examiners, and clinical and administrative directors to facilitate open communication and a seamless referral process -Attends and accompanies victims to hearings in the criminal justice, civil justice, and administrative justice systems including police interviews, prosecution meetings to provide support and information as needed -Refers victims to appropriate internal and external services to include: medical treatment, compensation assistance, legal support, therapeutic needs, shelter, social and educational needs both in English and Spanish
