As an intern at Brown and Caldwell I split my time between the Phoenix office's infrastructure and environmental departments. My overall duties included assisting in the completion of air permits for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, validating project equipment lists against project design drawings, and creating figures to identify equipment locations at wastewater sites. I also created lists of deliverable documents based on City of Phoenix project scopes.

As an intern at Alt & Witzig my main focus was material testing both in the field and in our office's material lab. Field tests consisted of density testing with a nuclear gauge to verify compaction met technical specifications outlined in a project's scope of work. While in the lab I tested the compressive strength of concrete cylinders collected from various project sites, as well as proctor tests on soil samples.
