As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, my role involves creating and implementing educational plans tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments aged 3-22. I adapt curriculum materials, provide specialized instruction (braille and technology), and collaborate with educators to ensure an inclusive learning environment.In my capacity as an Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist, I facilitate the development of essential mobility skills for individuals with visual impairments from age birth to seniors. This includes instructing on safe travel techniques, spatial awareness, and the use of mobility aids. My goal is to motivate students to be completely independent and to engage them in critical and analytical teaching strategies during lessons. If a student can think critically on their own and effectively problem-solve on their own they are on a good path to independence. I gear to refine my exploration techniques and strategies during lessons allowing for my students to develop their critical thinking skills.
