Jasmine Whaley, Mpp Email and Phone Number
Hi, I'm Jasmine (she/her). I'm an accomplished community organizer, communications professional, and public policy specialist with a proven track record of success. For over a decade, I've led transformative learning experiences for activists, organizers, policy leaders, and nonprofit professionals worldwide. My passion lies in using equity-centered design thinking and community organizing strategies to develop effective diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy solutions. My journey began as a community organizer in my hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina, where I was deeply involved in the local Black Lives Matter chapter. Through my work with BLM Gate City and as an economic justice advocate during North Carolina's historic Moral Monday Movement, I honed my skills in deep organizing alongside movement experts. While in Berlin pursuing my Master's of Public Policy (MPP) at the Hertie School of Governance, I discovered my passion for design thinking, social impact, and digitalization. I collaborated on projects ranging from refugee integration initiatives with YouTube Space Berlin to preventing violence against girls in South African schools. After graduating in 2018, I returned to North Carolina, where I managed social media accounts for Fortune 500 companies before reentering politics and policy as a Regional Field Director at the Carolina Federation in 2020. Combining my background in community organizing, policy, and digitalization, I've developed expertise in using cutting-edge digital tools to drive social justice campaigns. In 2022, I founded The Whaley Group, where I lead diverse teams in using community organizing principles and equity-centered design thinking to tackle DEI policy challenges. My clients range from Cali nurses reimagining community care to college students in North Carolina leading local innovation through community-led policy formation. As a public speaker, I share insights on Equity-Centered Design Thinking, Collaborative Decision-making for Diverse Teams, and Community Organizing 101.In my downtime, you'll find me immersed in sci-fi and dystopian literature, building virtual worlds in The Sims 4, or enjoying quality time with my fiancé. Life is all about balance, isn't it?
