My passion lies at the intersection of women’s equality, climate change, and the transformation of the fashion and beauty industries to sustainable and regenerative practices for people and the planet. I combine expertise in brand strategy, design thinking, sustainable development, and intersectional feminist theory. As a Sustainability Brand Strategist and Consultant, I partner with business leaders in sustainable fashion and clean beauty to find solutions to sustainability goals and initiatives, explore brand opportunities to impact change, prioritize the highest standards of manufacturing and production, diversify audiences, and find new and creative ways to nudge consumer behavior to have the lowest environmental impact.I use my voice to raise awareness and contribute to global change by shining a light on environmental and social issues that are important to the betterment of all and the shift toward gender and racial equality, environmental sustainability, design for zero waste and circularity, fair trade policies, clean ingredients, conscious consumerism, and regenerative practices for the planet.I believe in the importance of nudging consumer behavior to value high-quality garments over cheap and trendy polyester, increasing the lifespan of our clothing and closets. I believe in slow fashion and responsible purchasing as a way of life and an antidote to the high-speed consumerism of the last few decades of fast fashion that has manipulated our behavior to follow trends, devalue clothing, shorten the lifespan of garments, and perceive longevity and durability as obsolete. I believe in making a positive impact and improving the communities we exist in whether we are suppliers, employees, customers, owners, communities, or stakeholders.I work to raise awareness of the intersection of climate change and factory conditions for gendered garment workers. As the fashion industry moves towards a sustainable future, we must prioritize legislation that protects young girls from entering the workforce, policies that support education for girls, and greater access to family planning services. When a girl has access to education and family planning she is empowered to make life choices on her own terms, breaking the cycle of poverty and gender inequality. As reported by Paul Hawken’s Drawdown Report, education and family planning for women and girls is the #1 solution to reversing climate change. Let's work together to shift the possibilities of sustainability, diversity, and women’s empowerment to create lasting, thoughtful change.
