Our collective goal at UBC's Okanagan campus is to implement an Experiential Education strategy that facilitates student access, awareness and participation in transformative learning experiences both within and outside of the classroom. Concurrently, we aim to support faculty and staff in creating and sustaining these initiatives. Effective January 1, 2024, and for the next three years, I have been appointed Director, Interdisciplinary Co-op and Experiential Education. Working within both the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and the Faculty of Management, I will seek to provide strategic leadership for the Interdisciplinary Co-op program while advancing campus-wide experiential education initiatives and programming.

Working with the Faculty of Management, my role is focused on all aspects of community engagement and impact. Within this I look to support the Faculty by providing operational oversight to the cross-campus UBC Okanagan Co-op Education Program; coordinating and/or providing strategic oversight of all experiential learning courses and/or student projects within the Faculty; establishing and maintaining key community partnerships; recognizing and connecting collaborative research engagement opportunities; and executing on the Faculty of Management’s specific donor funding initiatives, and its alumni engagement strategy.

Working with the Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia, I am responsible for coordinating and delivering the co-op education program, along with career programing for the Faculty of Management. Experienced in workshop delivery, extensive event coordination, and trained in assisting with the career development of management/business focused individuals. Particularly interested in communications, human resources and the ongoing development of life-long learning in the community.Specialties: career development, extensive work in both workshop delivery and one-on-one setting for resume and cover letter writing, event planning, organizational skills and team development

Co-op Education: Manage, facilitate and coordinate the Cooperative Education Program at UBC Okanagan. Includes assisting registered co-op students with developing career-related work experience prior to graduation by completing co-op work terms. Instruct and facilitate career programing to assist students with developing career management skills.Develop, market, and promote to new and existing local, and national employers about the benefits of hiring co-op within their organizations. And continued ongoing work with co-op employers throughout the student's work terms.Career Coaching: Work with students on career development, from self exploration, to technical skills on resume and cover letter writing, to providing support around networking and interviewing for success. Career Programming is delivered through one-on-one coaching, seminars and workshops as well as planned guest speaker presentations and events.

Provide information and knowledge within the community on the various Business programs available at Okanagan College. Plan and organize campus events for business students and the business community. Assist students with academic planning and development of their academic course structure.

Worked various positions at the Grand Okanagan Resort, including: Front Desk/Guest Services Supervisor, Business Centre Attendant, Concierge and spent the last two years as Conference Coordinator. Postion involved the management of corporate conferences, meetings and social activities, planning the group's meeting space logistic requirements, food and beverage, and accommodations.
