Taking a wide lens, I managed many of the issues facing any growing business, such as corporate governance, litigation (commercial, employment, customs, and other matters), M&A, real estate, regulatory compliance, real estate, labor and employment, celebrity and endorsement law, information technology, insurance, risk management, privacy law, and data security.Franchise law is clearly a sizable part of that effort, including franchise agreements, registration and system compliance, state and federal regulatory compliance, disclosures, operational standards, advertising guidelines, intellectual property, and social media policies applicable to franchising.On the international franchising front, I handled a similar and at times expanded range of legal and regulatory issues, such as financial investigations, immigration, banking, antitrust, e-commerce, local non-competition law, customs, tariffs, currency repatriation, and other matters, either directly or through local counsel.

At Kaufman, I handled mergers and acquisitions, franchise law, employment, transactional and other matters. I also served as either first or second chair in complex commercial litigation cases, including all aspects of litigation matters, such as witness preparation, depositions, discovery disputes, summary judgment motions, pre-trial hearings, settlement conferences, meditations, arbitrations, and trials.Developing significant business and other relationships for the firm, including Cellairis, I was promoted to partner on an accelerated track (five years out of law school).In 2020, Kaufman merged with Fox Rothschild, LLP.
