As an accomplished law enforcement professional, I bring a wealth of experience from my tenure as a police officer in departments across CT and RI. Throughout my career, I have conducted thorough investigations encompassing a diverse range of offenses, from motor vehicle violations to misdemeanors and felonies. In my final eight years on the force, I assumed the role of Prosecution Court Officer in the Prosecution Bureau. There, I managed responsibilities such as collecting arrest reports, preparing court paperwork, and coordinating with various agencies, including the State Attorney's Office, Probation and Parole, Public Defender's Office, outside law enforcement agencies, and court advocates. Additionally, I presented defendants for arraignment in the 6th District Court of Providence and provided bail or sentence recommendations (in misdemeanor cases).In addition, I devoted over six years to serving as the Law Enforcement Explorer Director of Post #209. This program, affiliated with the esteemed Boy Scouts of America, offers young adults aged 15-20 a comprehensive platform for training, competition, service, and practical experiences, empowering them to explore potential careers in law enforcement.My experience as Director of the Police Explorers led me to achieve certification as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Investigation Instructor at the RI State Police and RI Municipal Police Academy. My dedication to professional development also prompted me to provide in-service training throughout the State of Rhode Island, where I had the privilege of sharing my expertise with hundreds of new recruits and current police officers in essential areas such as DVSA Investigation, DUI/Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Administration and Investigation, and Community Policing during Traffic Stops.Complementing my diverse skill set, I hold certifications as an Accident Reconstructionist and a Field Training Officer, reflecting my commitment to proficiency and excellence in critical areas of law enforcement.I am driven by a resolute passion for fostering safer communities and upholding the highest standards of justice. As a Ph.D. candidate, I am studying health and wellness in public safety, with a specific focus on cumulative PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicide, and improving wellness programs offered to police, fire, and corrections.
