While continuing to work with Inlight I completed a six month placement with AHM Health Insurance. During this placement I augmented the capacity of their internal development team and assisted in the delivery of several key features. These include:1) A major update to AHM's life insurance web portal, involving significant refactoring of an existing project built on React and TypeScript.2) A refactor of a very complex health insurance sign up form, built using Formik. This project involved implementing a new input validation system using Zod, which provided more detailed context to users when form submission failed.3) A/B tests of UI changes build on top of Google Analytics to provide greater visibility into the effect of proposed changes to the presentation of travel insurance products.AHM was highly impressed with my performance and asked to extend my placement.

In this role I was responsible for producing digital content for the IBISWorld website, and ensuring this content was formatted and delivered correctly using our in-house CMS system. In this role I gained my first exposure to web development through manually editing HTML and CSS to match a design specification.

Primary responsibilities include researching and writing reports on mining and utilities industries in Australia and New Zealand.
