Jason Ormsby is a Texas attorney, former Marine Officer, and co-founder of Trojan Steel. In 2010, Mr. Ormsby founded Stonewall Associates, a commercial real estate ownership company specializing in multifamily rehab construction and property management. Stonewall successfully acquired, rehabbed, and stabilized more than $150,000,000 of multifamily real estate since its founding. In addition to Stonewall’s acquisitions, Mr. Ormsby founded and led SWA Property Management which grew to 95 full-time employees.The industry knowledge and experience which laid the foundation for his ventures in Stonewall began in 2005, while still on active-duty in the Marines. Mr. Ormsby was recruited by a Houston-based multifamily entrepreneur seeking to grow his portfolio of 1,300 units and looking for the person with the work ethic and leadership to help make that possible. Joining the team in 2006 and taking immediate charge of operations, Mr. Ormsby quickly developed an exceptional ability to ascertain and execute value-add plays in the multifamily sector and the company grew to 6,200 units in just three years. His leadership was tested and proven through real-world operational experience managing the complex and diverse portfolio made up of class B and C properties ranging in size from 92 to 940 units with more than 150 employees. Additionally, Mr. Ormsby managed rehab construction projects both large and small with crews of more than 100 workers and varying budgets. Mr. Ormsby proudly served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG, military lawyer) in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 thru 2006. His duties included being deployed globally to the Horn of Africa, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served as the Executive Officer (2nd in Command) of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Houston, responsible for the support and welfare of 200 Marines working as recruiters in Southeast Texas. After leaving active-duty in 2006, Mr. Ormsby remained in the Marine Corps Reserve until he resigned his commission and separated honorably in 2010.Mr. Ormsby has received the National Apartment Association designations of “Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor” and “Certified Apartment Manager” and was a Steering Committee member of the Houston Apartment Association PAC. He is actively involved with veterans’ causes both locally and nationally. Mr. Ormsby earned a B.S. in Accounting, with Honors, from BYU–Hawaii Campus, and a J.D. from The University of Houston Law Center.
