This includes the design of the minimum standards for risk management, and producing and presenting the Group risk reports to the leadership team and Board Risk Committee. I also provided oversight as to failure of controls and the prevention of recurrences. I was part of the team that developed, trained and monitored the embedding of a risk appetite framework across the group.

I also had responsibility for the development from scratch of the department's business standards in key areas such as spreadsheet controls and information security. I rolled out, trained staff and subsequently monitored the adherence to the standards.

I directly supervised a small number of medium sized life insurance companies, and had management responsibility for two other members of the team, including the oversight of their supervision of the insurance firms they were responsible for. I also led the thematic review of the mortgage endowment sales for the medium sized insurance companies.
