Reporting to the General Manager Finance SA and Chief Procurement Officer at a National Level, responsible for implementing a strategic procurement model, to achieve quality and cost effectiveness for Advertiser Newspapers and Messenger Newspapers, reliability of supply and timeliness of delivery by applying manage procurement skills. Accountable for the formulation, development and implementation of purchasing strategies with the objective of meeting business requirements for assurance or supply, quality, service, cost and innovation and regulatory compliance Recommend purchasing objective and ensure their communication and implementation throughout the company Consult with internal customers to lead the procurement process to meet business needs Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods / services that meet business requirements Develop procurement plants and programs Effective RFP / Market engagement, contract management and supplier management Review supply contracts where applicable Execution of effective contracts management, control of RFP engagements, key/strategic vendor management and compliance to purchase to pay processes across the business Organise and oversee regular stock takes then reconcile back to General Ledger  Report and charge back internal costs associated with business spend to relevant cost centres Analyse and report on the procurement activities including variance from budgeted cost and renegotiated contracts Provide input to annual budgeting cycle

 Collate, monitor and analyse all revenue/expense data from the following sources:advertising, stock, newsagent circulation, customer subscriptions and other sundry sales Provide relevant and timely information of company financial performance to local managers, Sydney Head Office and News Corporation New York Liaise with other departments and Company Tax Advisors/Auditors on a regular basis Ensure compliance with FBT and income tax legislation and other relevant policies and procedures Develop strategies to improve policy, procedures and processes Preparation and compilation of quarterly Australian Bureau of Statistics within necessary timeframes Prepare actual to budget financial information and ensure adherence to budget by regular monitoring Develop strategies to improve policy, procedures and processes Assist Financial Controller with department staff training and development Provide support to other departments to maximise effective and efficient operation of day to day business Balance sheet maintenance: ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all financial accounts and subsidiary systems Ensuring effective and accurate processing and maintenance of financial systems (including JDE and TM1) Provide support to all Advertiser Finance Department teams and business units as required Investigate accounting queries and effect adjustments as appropriate Ensure Asset Management functions are undertaken accurately Continually review relevant policies, procedures and guidelines for area of responsibility Analyse weekly newsprint, ink and plate usage reports and liaise with production staff to resolve discrepancies Prepare recharges for interstate printing based on materials usage  Reconcile inventory with the general ledger, weekly and monthly
