The campaign's goal was to observe the effects of orographic precipitation over complex terrains using Doppler, S, X and Ka-Ku band RADARS. Also, the University of North Dakota supplied a Cessna Citation for medium altitude observation, while NASA's ER-2 provided high altitude RADAR observation. In addition, over 80 ground instrument sites were set up covering central and western North Carolina.- IFloodS (Iowa Flood Studies) Iowa - [May 1 - June 15 2013] Collaboration between the University of Iowa and NASA to support the Ground Validation program activities of the Global Precipitation Measurement mission (GPM).
