Fiber Technician
• Performed installation and handling of optical transmission systems, utilizing specific cable 432 and 864 loose tube. • Prepped the cable by mid-sheathing, then built out the optical termination enclosures, followed by splicing according to project specifications. • Executed safe aerial and underground installations, with manhole package safety gear along with appropriate PPE, related to each project. • Performed installations in business and industrial settings, with limited disruption to the clients. • Gained experience and knowledge building out multiple types of enclosures such as rack panels, wall panels, A, B, 450D Gel and 600D Tyco enclosures, CommScope OTE 4-8-12, 3M, and Coyote PLP.• Became proficient in the use of the Optical Timing Domain Reflectometer tool: EXFO type FTB2 • Utilized and trained in the use of the Sumitomo Type-Q101-CA, Splicer. • Practiced time management skills, by prepping daily and weekly for project deployment, by reviewing the job materials and Scope Of Work (SOW), ahead of each corresponding project. • Upon completion of each project, downloaded related job data and completed closeout documentation, to provide to the Project Management Team.
