Manage the Flight Control design center organization (~100 engineers and support staff) responsible for the design and life-cycle product support of the following equipment for all in-production 7-series models: - Primary and Secondary Flight Control actuation (linear hydraulic actuators, electromechanical actuators, ballscrews, etc.) - High Lift actuation (geared rotary actuators, gearboxes, torque tubes, etc.) - Flight Control electronics and software (control electronics, position sensors, etc.) - Primary and Secondary pilot controls (control column, pedals, speedbrake mechanism, etc.)Organization responsibilities include: * Development of new actuation, electronics, and software designs in support of new airplane programs * Management of supplied equipment and supplier relationships * Support airplane production (build issue resolution and efficiency improvements) * Support in-service fleet (safety related problem resolution and reliability improvements) * Development of system and component requirements, system and component level testing, and system and component architecture and design * Certification of Flight Control systems - functional hazard, fault tree, failure mode effects analysis, certification plan, and certification deliverable development and approval * Definition and execution of the Flight Controls technology roadmaps * Management of the Flight Control engineering skill team (300+ engineers) which includes resource strategy, promotion, and retention of talent * Ensuring safety is paramount in all activities and decision making across the organization

* Managed an engineering team responsible for the High Lift system covering production and development programs. Team was responsible for resolving fleet issues and developing and maintaining High Lift system designs. (~20 engineers) - 767 Tanker: Ensured system design met new requirements and the team was prepared to support initial build, roll-out, and flight test. - 737 MAX: Helped drive significant trades impacting system design to closure. Ensured supplier resources and schedule plan met overall program milestones. Coordinated regularly with program to ensure proper visibility of risks and opportunities. - 777X: Established center of excellence around High Lift control law design within functional design center. Supported program in meeting initial SCD requirement development.* Provided leadership, guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the team. Encouraged and supported career development for every individual. Strategized with Flight Control management on a long range skill development plan to support future statement of work needs.

Led 737 MAX and 747-8 Test, Analysis, Simulation, and Requirements team (~6 engineers)* Led the development of the Primary Flight Control system requirements and ensured all validation & verification activities were completed to support program milestones.* Authored, reviewed, and conducted tests at the lab and airplane to verify new system level requirements were adequately met.* Ensured primary flight control models properly represented key airplane characteristics and simulation customers received the necessary support.* Special assignment on the 787 battery team - developed improved Acceptance Test Procedure at supplier to help address airplane grounding

* Developed Flight Controls pitch system requirements and tracked requirement validation/verification within the DOORS database* Developed detailed test procedures for the pitch actuation system, conducted lab tests, and analyzed test results to verify system met requirements* Authored and conducted ground and flight test plans
