As part of the CD Platform team, I automated deployment and management of core CI/CD productivity services including:* GitLab* GitLab Runners (Kubernetes and Autoscale)* JFrog Artifactory* Hashicorp Vault* Sourcegraph* Custom services written in Go or Python (Flask)The most critical custom service was responsible for the various software signing tasks used by the engineering team's pipelines, from the common openssl binary signing to the more complex AMI firmware signing.Deployments involved a mix of Terraform and Ansible automation to:* Bare-metal hardware* Openstack (VMs)* Kubernetes* Azure - VMs, scale sets, and AKS.In addition to managing the tools and services, I also engaged with the engineering teams to help solve their CI/CD challenges and improve their workflows.

Designed and implemented a Continuous Delivery (CD) pipeline system (using Jenkins 2.x) where pipelines could be dynamically created and configured by the developers via a custom JSON file.Setup an instance of the open source CD dashboard, Hygieia, and wired up data collection to our SDLC tooling (Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Perforce). This included developing a brand new Java collector for Perforce as well as implementing build and deployment automation for Hygieia.Migrated our deployment system from CruiseControl.NET to Jenkins. Also assisted with creating a new deployment tool for use by developers, QA, Ops, etc.Assisted with driving adoption of NuGet for dependency management of both third party and first party libraries.Implemented a "commons" PowerShell module for easy re-use of common functionality such as interacting with internal systems.Designed and implemented an automated component creation system. This system is used by the build engineers to automatically setup and configure new components in our SCM, code review tool, build system, and deployment system. This system cut down new component spin-up times from a day+ to a matter of minutes.

I worked at Wizards of the Coast (WotC) as a build engineer in their Technology division. I specifically worked with the Customer Engagement Systems (CES) development teams, as well as Operations, providing automation solutions for builds and deployments to both pre-production and production environments. I also administer source control (Perforce).Note: Started engagement as a contractor with Wimmer Solutions from March 2013 - October 2013.

I worked at Microsoft building product documentation for Visual Studio and SQL Server.I worked closely with the documentation release managers to schedule builds, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed build support to help them meet their release dates.I managed the build system's source control depot in Source Depot.I fielded service requests and incidents raised by the writing teams.Note: Engaged as a vendor starting with VMC (June 2009 - June 2011) and ending with Wicresoft (July 2011 - March 2013).

Supported the build system for the Visual Studio product build team.Note: Engaged as a vendor through VMC.

Responsible for providing quality builds of the IntelliTax software suite and various internal applications.Administered source control via Surround SCM.Developed setup applications using Installshield 2008.
