I am a Resident Engineer at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority - Capital Delivery Department. I am responsible for overseeing multi-faceted construction Projects for the MBTA. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to: tracking the overall progress of Contractor(s) to ensure Project schedule is met, reviewing and processing all pay requisitions submitted by the Contractor, reviewing and processing of any change orders, ensuring the work is completed and is in compliance with Project plans and specifications, maintaining thorough records of the Project, supervising MBTA site staff while working with them to ensure the quality/compliance of work being performed, and facilitating communication between the Contractor and MBTA. I am currently working on the Ruggles Station Commuter Rail Platform Project. The overall scope of the Project includes the addition of a new 800' high level platform along Track #2. The platform will have new canopies installed at both the East and West egress points, along with a pedestrian underpass connecting the East and West platforms (to be installed underneath existing elevated busway). The Ruggles Station Project includes a number of other upgrades including busway sidewalk/roadway repairs, new lighting and drainage, and elevator installation/renovation.

District 6 - Boston, Ma

I am the Assistant District Utility and Constructablility Engineer at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (District 6). I review plans, estimates, and specifications in their various stages of completion (25%,75%, & 100%). Each review is focused on finding possible conflicts between the existing utilities and the proposed work. Additionally, using my experience in Heavy Civil Construction, I look for any constructability concerns. I map out each job step by step and then compare it to the set of plans I am reviewing. This allows me to comment on any possible issues I foresee for the Contractor who is awarded the job. The overall objective is to reduce the amount of unknowns and/or changes during the construction phase of the project.

I am a field engineer at J.F. White Contracting Company. Currently, I am working on repairs in the central artery tunnels. I am responsible for planning and scheduling work up to a month in advance. I work closely with the labor force, along with representatives from the state department to make sure all work performed is per contract documents. I have also worked on Quality Control for J.F. White Contracting Co. My experience with quality control came from working on an accelerated bridge replacement job known as the Fast 14. J.F. White Contracting and Kiewit worked together to replace 14 bridges along Interstate 93. My responsibility was to make sure the high strength bolts used to connect the bridge segments together had the proper rotational capacities per AASHTO regulations.
