I've been with my current employer for 20 years in two different roles with the university. I spent my first three years as an Academic Counselor and after excelling at that job and earning a "Senior" title change, I ended up going into Enrollment. From there, I specialized in "Continuing Teacher Education" where I would work with teachers in 50 different states for various types of certification updates, salary advancements, and earning additional state certifications. I would spend a significant amount of time asking specific investigative questions to determine motivations, benefits, long term goals, and verify the applicability of our coursework to the student's end goals. I would prepare the student to be comfortable with an online asynchronous environment, and give them the confidence and tools that they would need to complete their courses. I earned both "Senior" and eventually "Executive" job titles in this position, which are earned based on consistently meeting quantitative and qualitative university goals. I feel emotionally rewarded working with students and seeing the before and after of what our courses helped those students achieve. Often times students just need someone to navigate them through the checks and balances of satisfying their state, employers, or academic institutions.At this point I'm looking for something that is both emotionally and financially rewarding. I'm welcome to something new and different.
