The Open Source Policy Center (OSPC) at the American Enterprise Institute is an organization of economists and policy analysts dedicated to building open source models of tax policy that can be easily replicated, tested, extended, and developed by any individual or organization. My work involves aiding in the development of a large-scale general equilibrium macroeconomic model for dynamic scoring of tax policy and a model to compute effective tax rates on capital. Primary responsibilities include modeling and estimating revenue effects of tax proposals and forecasting tax receipts for the President's Budget. Areas of specialization include the corporate income tax, the effects of taxation on small businesses, and excise taxes.

I taught honors sections of principles of macroeconomics and intermediate macroeconomics for the Terry College of Business. In addition, I supervised six senior theses, was a panelist for the UGA Economics Society, and conducted academic research on corporate finance, tax policy, and macroeconomics.

I was responsible for holding office hours to answer students' questions, conduct weekly review sessions, and grade homework and exams. I served as a TA for Household Finance, Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Business Economics, and PhD-level Public Finance.

My primary accomplishment at TRS was my role in developing quantitative factor models that formed the basis of a new global equities portfolio. I provided econometric and modelling expertise to portfolio managers at TRS and consulted with quantitative finance specialists at leading investment banks and hedge funds to understand best practices. The development of the trading strategy involved econometric analysis, back-testing of models, and employing portfolio-optimization algorithms to minimize risk subject to organizational constraints.

Research assistant for economists in the Research Department of the Bank. Projects included an analysis of inter-industry wages, a study of majors chosen by college graduates, and research on the interaction of intermittent work, health, and wages. My research included statistical and econometric analysis on large datasets using STATA and SAS software. My work supported bank objectives and resulted in peer-review publication.

Responsible for building, testing, and packaging computer systems for cancer treatment and for providing support to field technicians. While at Varian, I optimized order processing to significantly improve the time between order and delivery and reduce shipping costs.
