I am responsible for leading strategic litigation support efforts at multi-party PRP sites, including the assessment of chemical data and environmental contamination and planning/execution of investigation and remedial activities. I frequently prepare technical reports for state and federal agencies detailing the status of sediment remediation projects as well as reports for clients and for litigation support. I am responsible for supervising and leading a team of scientists and engineers on both the east coast and west coast of the United States

I worked in the Sediment and Waterfronts Group, focusing on remedial activities at large scale, multi-party Superfund Sites. I provided technical consultation for projects including: determining the nature and extent of chemicals of concern (PCBs, NAPL, metals, pesticides), statistical analysis (regression, ANOVA, geospatial), and writing technical reports (Work Plans, Site Investigation Reports, Conceptual Site Models, Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study, Corrective Measures Study). In addition, I supervised 2-3 junior scientists and generated new marketing materials and proposals.

I conducted biogeochemical field studies in the Northeast to investigate the mobility and bioavailability of mercury within upland forest ecosystems. As part of this work, I sampled fish and water in the Adirondack Mountains of New York and analyzed the samples for mercury and methylmercury.

As part of my fellowship, I created and taught science lesson plans at high schools that allowed me to bring my experience in environmental engineering into the classroom. The fellowship also allowed me to complete my Master Thesis investigating spatial and temporal patterns in dissolved organic carbon and nitrogen in ground and surface water at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest.

In this position, I was responsible for monthly surface and groundwater sample collection at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. After collecting the samples, I was responsible for analyzing the samples in the laboratory for wet chemistry (pH, anions, cations, DOC). I was also responsible for day to day management of the laboratory and supervising undergraduate work study students.

I was responsible for collection of chemical, biological (benthic invertebrate and electro-fishing surveys), and physical water quality data in the Potomac River Watershed. After collecting the data, I was responsible for analyzing the data and preparing baseline stream assessment reports.

I collected chemical and biological stream samples and performed stream nutrient (N & P) cycling experiments in Howard and Montgomery County, MD. I was also responsible for laboratory analysis of water chemistry and benthic invertebrate identification.

I developed and coordinated workshops and institutes, and special projects including water quality monitoring workshops for GK-12 teachers in the Delaware River Watershed. I also taught environmental and natural history programs to youths and adults.
