I am a Professor of Chemistry in the The Department of Chemistry and Physics at La Trobe University. I am an expert in Chemical Synthesis (including Inorganic, Organometallic and Organic chemistry), X-ray crystallography, multinuclear NMR and computational/theoretical chemistry. I currently lead a group of 6 PhD students, as well as 2-4 Masters/Honours students at any given time. We currently have a particular interest in generating catalysts for oxidative C-H to C-F bond transformations using electrochemistry rather than an external oxidant.Services that can be offered to commercial laboratories include:Single Crystal X-ray structural analyses.NMR spectroscopy (including 1H, 13C, 19F, 29Si, 31P, 77Se, 121Sn, 127Te nuclei).Fine chemical synthesis, with particular expertise working in an inert atmosphere environment, with the lab fully equipped with glove boxes and Schlenk lines.Theoretical analyses of small molecular systems using DFT and other computational methods.
