I am at trusted advisor and partner to the Optus Group, providing specialist expertise towards commercial and operational decision making and ensuring the organisation meets its obligations under the Privacy Act and relevant areas of the Telecommunications Act. Guide business units to appropriately identify privacy risks and implement appropriate mitigating controls and initiatives, with the aim of enabling them to better manage costs and increase revenue while avoiding any regulatory compliance imposts. Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and make recommendations for matters relating to complex privacy issues such as: biometrics, automation, digitisation, artificial intelligence, data analytics and other complex and multi-jurisdictional issues. Provide governance around privacy incident management. This requires managing multiple issues, including complex and high risk issues, and ensuring they are contained, prevention recommendations met and incidents managed in accordance with the legal requirements of the data breach notification laws. Identify systemic privacy risks and guide the business to implement processes to help minimise these risks. Develop training and awareness materials and conduct face to face training.
