My legal career began as a law clerk at the New York Court of Appeals, where I developed a deep understanding of the art of persuasive written and oral communication. Today, as a partner at Hodgson Russ, I focus on complex civil litigation and help clients navigate intricate legal landscapes. I serve clients as both a counselor and litigator on wide spectrum of general commercial and business matters, including disputes related to commercial contracts, construction contracts, corporate agreements, non-compete clauses, and real property transactions. My commitment to excellence and detail facilitate the delivery of effective representation across a diverse client base. Over the years, I have honed my skills in delivering effective advocacy and strategic solutions for clients, whether in or out of court. Not every client wants or needs a litigation-based solution, and I strive to find creative and efficient ways to assist clients in achieving outcomes that facilitate their business goals. Over the past 25 years, I have also cultivated a unique specialization in Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) consulting, regulatory compliance counseling, and defense of OSHA inspections and Section 11(c) whistleblower claims. I serve as the firm’s OSHA Practice Group Leader and take pride in helping clients to recognize and effectively manage their OSHA-related challenges in a wide range of industries. In an effort to keep clients and potential clients informed, I have published numerous articles on OSHA enforcement practices and compliance strategies. As a member of the firm's COVID-19 Litigation and Employment Action Team, I was at the forefront of guiding clients through the ever-shifting employer safety and health guidance and compliance requirements during the pandemic, including COVID-19 safety-related and employment issues stemming from New York State and OSHA compliance guidance. I also helped clients navigate the complex contractual legal landscape caused by the pandemic, including the implications to their contractual rights and competing obligations surrounding performance, force majeure clauses, and delay claims, particularly as relates to construction projects. During the pandemic, I developed an expertise in the eligibility and forgiveness requirements of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). I presented numerous PPP webinars and co-authored the firm's "Borrower Beware" series of PPP client alerts. I have successfully assisted clients to appeal PPP loan forgiveness denials and obtain forgiveness of nearly $40 million.#OSHA #PPP
