My plant was 1 of 4 that Rexam spun off to a small company called KubeTech. 29 days after the spin off, we were notified that the plant was being closed. I spent my remaining time at KubeTech working with legal counsel and preparing and delivering severance agreements to the remaining 125+ employees. I acheived a 100% participation rate in the severance program by offering a decent plan and treating employees with the dignity and respect they deserved under difficult circumstances. My efforts saved saved the company significant money that would have been spent to defend discrimination claims from non-participants, estimated at $20,000+ per claim.
