My role changed in January 2005 to Software House Coordinator within the same department. I tested new schemes and projects with Software Houses, including new insurance schemes and types of insurance. I have to ensure that the systems quote correctly, that all paperwork is correct, the message coding is correct, and that the MMA in-house system is working correctly. This includes making testing visits to the various Software Houses to discuss any issues arising, and looking at ways that these issues can be resolved.

From November 2003 to the present day I have worked in the Electronic Trading Unit at MMA. When I first joined the department my duties included looking at premium differences on Home and Motor insurance policies that have been transmitted to MMA, and looking and fixing errors and warnings on a specific Software House report. These were done on a daily basis.

I worked in the Customer Service Unit at MMA from March 2002 to November 2003. My job was to assist insurance brokers and intermediaries and clients with motor, home and travel insurance. I also advised on current insurance schemes or new business and offer alternative schemes where possible that will be of benefit to the customer.

I started at Royal Mail straight from school as a postal cadet from the age of 16 until 18. My duties during this time included delivery, mail sorting, mail collection and internal messenger, involving the collection, sorting and delivery of all mail to and from the offices in Reading.From the age of 18 until 24 my main duties were delivery and night sorting. During this time I also had stints as Line Manager, in charge of night sorting duties at West Reading Delivery Office and also worked in the secure office sorting and distributing Registered letters and packets.From the age of 24 until December 2001, I worked in Customer Service where I used my operational knowledge to help customers. During this time I also trained a number of new Customer Service advisers. and arranged several recreational nights including the department Christmas parties.
