- Performs duties and has responsibilities in the appraisal of property in St. Louis County to include the following: conducts inspections of property to determine conditions, improvements, locations, areas, measurements, etc.; gathers information from property owners, reviews past records and data regarding property to obtain all necessary information; classifies property per Minnesota statutes; makes appraisals based on available information; estimates market values using cost, market and income approaches. - Computes assessed property values; prepares necessary records and reports concerning appraisals; sets up statistical data for analyses.- Performs specific duties of and is responsible for miscellaneous tasks concerned with the communication of appraisals and assessments to citizen groups and the public to include the following: reviews and answers taxpayer's questions and inquiries regarding assessment laws and procedures as well as residential valuation inquiries and residential appraisal practices; meets with concerned groups or individuals regarding complaints of assessments. - May assist higher level appraisers in representing the Assessor's Department at Board of Review and Equalization meetings when required; assists in resolving problem situations with other appraisers; assists and provides advice and guidance to local township appraisers in coordinating and conducting appraisals.- Performs related duties as assigned.
