Ensured the unit’s full certification to conduct deployed operations; coordinated the unit’s engineering and land management.- Oversaw the training execution, deployment, redeployment, and long-term operations of a 2,000 personnel unit. - Developed a plan to staff, retrain, reequip, and prepare the brigade for deployment to Iraq less than eighteen months after returning from Afghanistan.

Afghanistan

Chief Transportation Officer1st Infantry Division in Afghanistan, 2012-2013As the Division Transportation officer – one of only ten at any given time in the active Army – planned, coordinated, and synchronized all US and Allied transportation for over 21,000 troops in both Northern and Eastern Afghanistan. Developed, organized, and executed movements at all levels in support of operations; supervised a staff including Romanian and Czech Republic liaison officers.- Conducted the deployment to and redeployment of over 50,000 US and allied forces into and out of Afghanistan, more than the rest assigned to Afghanistan combined.- At peak operations, synchronized the rotation of 19,000 personnel through one airport in one month. This required coordinating the arrivals, departures, and wait times of personnel and baggage between multiple organizations due to limited available bed-space.- Created, planned, briefed to the senior organization leader, and tracked the execution of the first brigade sized road-movement in Afghanistan, moving 2k personnel and 200 vehicles by convoys in order to pre-position equipment for incoming units.

Fort Riley, Kansas; 1 Year In Kuwait

Duties included planning, synchronization, and overall operation of all theater line-haul transportation movements between Kuwait and Iraq; and coordinating for air and sea movements for supported organizations across Afghanistan and the Red Sea. Supervised a seven-person staff.- Coordinated the assignment of missions and the tracking of 1,060 trucks during the closing months of the Iraq war retrograde. - Assigned over 900 40-truck convoys across the Iraqi battlespace, moving more than 28,000 loads from Iraq to Kuwait for eventual movement to the United States in less than one year. - Using four assigned US Army Watercraft, simultaneously moved over one-million short tons between ports along the Red Sea.- Monitored the execution of over 1k air drops conducted between Kuwait and Afghanistan, ensuring organizations had continuous flow of parachutes and other equipment to sustain record-breaking 3-drop per day average.

Deagu, South Korea

Supervising a staff of two, developed long and short plans for the army’s only South Korea based movement control battalion, ensuring the unit could provide in-transit visibility over all cargo movements in case of war. Tracked and managed all daily sustainment movements across the South Korean peninsula; responsible for planning all training operations ensuring battalion soldiers were ready to conduct combat operations with no-notice.- Rewrote the battalion’s book on standard operating procedures, the unit warplan, and annual training guidance, ensuring the unit’s operations in peace and war complimented, meshed, and enhanced the operations of higher organizations.- Developed and supervised the execution of the unit’s first week-long winter training exercise, rehearsing critical transportation skills in realistic combat conditions; assessed, coordinated, and monitored the unit’s safety during inclement conditions, resulting in zero motor vehicle accidents or cold weather injuries.
