Today Fairway is one of Ontario’s leading municipal and utilities service providers, specializing in the “Internet of Things” engineering and smart city solutions.Identified key improvement opportunities within Fairway’s business functions while running the business with generic applications and single point solutions. Recognized opportunities for building a management application, detailed the architecture and functionality of the application, assembled a great Canadian-based team and began building what is now known as Tradetraks. Metrolinx Kitchener Train Layover Facility: The building of a brand new Train Layover Facility in Kitchener Ontario for Metrolinx and Go Transit.Pan Am Games Hamilton Soccer Stadium: Fairway Electrical is proud to be a part of an excellent group of companies currently building the new Hamilton Stadium.Retrofit of 42,000 Streetlights with New LED Technology: Fairway successfully retrofit 42,000 HPS streetlights with new LED Technology in the Region of Waterloo. The company partnered with Itron (formally Silverpring Networks) to deliver one of Ontario's first fully functional Adaptive Control Systems. This system allows Kitchener to control on/off and dimming functions of each street light in real time. It also helps with troubleshooting lighting issues remotely saving the City significant maintenance dollars. Going forward, this system will provide the necessary platform to support many of Kitchener's IoT initiatives.
