I was studying Mechanical & Production engineering at West Kent College and was recommended as an apprentice. Undertook all kinds of machining,fabricating,and assembly.Francis Barker used to make Instruments for the government,Compasses etc,very interesting work.
I started as an apprentice mechanic so all kinds of work....engine rebuilding etc. The company specialised in performance cars so it was quite an exciting job when I was 21 !
